It is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you of the passing of our dear husband, father and friend. In August of this year Paul was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After several months of treatment his diminished immune system finally got the better of him and on December 2nd. 2008 at 10:05 in the am he passed peacefully with his family by his side. He was never in any pain and his passing was swift.

It’s hard for us to be overwrought with grief because we have so much to be thankful for. For anyone who knew him laughter was his main priority in life so we ask you to honor him with a smile and a kind word.

A memorial as well as a memorial scholarship fund are in the works. Please check back from time-to-time for details.

Paul began his surveying career in 1958 with the California Division of Highways (Cal Trans). He became a Licensed Land Surveyor in 1973 and that year started teaching boundary classes at Santa Ana Jr. College. He left Cal Trans in 1980 and joined the Orange County Surveyor’s Office as Deputy County Surveyor. He “retired” in 1993 to become a consultant in the boundary and mapping fields. Paul was the founder and president of Pacific Land Seminars. and was the owner of PCPI. He was co-author of the acclaimed book Advanced Land Descriptions ( Landmark ) and author of Surveying Principles for Civil Engineers ( P.P.I. ). He had been an Expert Examiner for the State Board of Registration and had presented classes and seminars in Arizona, California, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon and Washington. He was President of the California Land Surveyor’s Association in 1989 and at the time of his death the current Chairman of the California Foundation for Land Surveying Education.
